History of Frosh

Since the dawn of the supplemental application, FROSH has brought together incoming commerce students ("FROSHEES") and current commerce students ("FROSH Leaders") for a three day, two night orientation experience like no other. Founded and organized by the UBC Commerce Undergraduate Society at the Sauder School of Business, FROSH is the largest multi-day student-led orientation at the University of British Columbia. The purpose of FROSH is to give FROSHEES the opportunity to meet new and current students before the start of the academic year and provide them with invaluable information about campus life and how to jump-start their university career.

At FROSH, FROSHEES are placed into teams with FROSH Leaders and they have to work together to compete in various challenges and games that will test their intelligence, creativity, athleticism, energy and above all, their spirit. A select group of Sauder alumni legends serve as the honorable judges to present challenges and award points to teams. In the end, teams will have to go above and beyond to impress the judges in order to be awarded the most coveted trophy of all: the FROSH Spirit Cup.

Frosh 2011

With over 600 students involved, FROSH 2011 will be joining last year's FROSH as the largest FROSH organized by the Commerce Undergraduate Society. And even more exciting yet, this will be the 10th anniversary! The theme of FROSH 2011 is Board Games. Each group will have a chosen game. Throughout the weekend, this will inspire their costumes, cheers, and players. During FROSH 2011, teams will be working together and against each team to win spirit challenges and gain spirit points. We will be featuring new as well as classic games that will bring out your childhood while testing your ability as a new university student. Once nighttime approaches, students will be treated to venues around Vancouver featuring talented DJs and a good time!
